What is mywifiext.net?

Mywifiext.net is the default web address to setup the Netgear extender manually. You can go for setup through the setup wizard. But if you have some technical knowledge then you can go for manual setup. For this setup, you need to use this web address to start the setup process. You can also use the default IP address rather than this web address. This web address also redirects you to default IP address and open the login page if the Netgear extender is already setup. After entering the login details, you will see the basic home page of the Netgear extender. From here onwards, you can go for advance settings for your Netgear EX2000.

Hardware Features of Netgear Extender

·         Link Rate LED: This will tell about the wireless connection between router and extender. A user can verify the stable connection.

·         Status LED:This will lit when extender is turned on otherwise remains off.

·         PC to Extender: This LED light verifies the connection of computer and extender.

·         WPS LED: This will help in providing information about the WPS connection. If this is blinking then WPS connection is in progress.

Setup Netgear Extender EX2000

Before starting the setup process, place your extender at an optimum location. According to us, the optimum location is midway between your router and the area where there is no internet. Turn on the extender and wait till the power LED turns solid.

There are two methods to connect your router and Netgear EX2000. One is WPS method but this can only be applied when your router supports WPS. If your router supports this then go for it. Otherwise, set it up using web browser method.

1.       Turn on your extender and connect a computer using the network name of the extender. Open the wireless network manager and search for the SSID of your extender.

2.       Connect your extender to the WiFi network of your existing router.

3.       Launch an internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox. Almost all latest versions of Internet browser is supported by this extender.

4.       The setup wizard displays and guides you. Follow the on-screen instructionsand complete the setup process. If you again want to open or want to configure the extender then type www.mywifiext.net in the address bar of the browser.

If you are not getting enough performance from your extender then place it near to your router. Check the Link Rate LED, the light should be solid green.

When to use Netgear EX2000?

When you are experiencing dead zones or no internet areas in your home or office then there is need to install this extender. Otherwise there is no need because the traffic you are getting from the extender is slower than directly getting it from the router.  So, never use an extender if you want more speed. What you can do is to increase the speed or coverage, place the extender near to the router. There are four ports on the extender. After setting it up, you can use these ports to connect up to 4 devices.
